Treasured Regrets: What Do You Wish You'd Kept?

You know, one of my biggest regrets is being flippant about keepsakes from my high school and college days. As I’ve gotten older, those memories feel a bit blurry, overshadowed by everything else crowding my brain. I find myself longing to see and touch those sentimental items—like my first cast iron pan, which I had no clue how to clean, or my college ID that I carelessly tossed out the window somewhere along Niagara Falls Boulevard. And let’s not forget my hilariously bad short films that left my film professor scratching his head—gone because I didn’t realize their value at the time. The hard truth is, forgetting always wins, and I can't help but wonder, have you tossed something away that you now wish you had kept? What was it? Let’s chat about it!

Takeaways:

  • We often forget the sentimental value of keepsakes from our youth, don't we?
  • Looking back, I realize how much I regret throwing away my college mementos.
  • Forgetting always wins, and it's a tough truth to accept as we age.
  • Have you ever tossed something you later wished you had kept? It happens to all of us.
  • I reminisced about my first cast iron pan and how I didn't appreciate it back then.
  • Those short films I made in college? They were awful, but they meant something to me.
